Carl Lindell Jr. moved to Tampa in 1969, where he began working at his father’s Volkswagen dealership. Entrepreneurial from the start, he quickly negotiated to purchase the underperforming dealership. Under his management, the dealership grew into a highly profitable enterprise that Carl used as a platform to expand into other brands such as Honda, Acura, Nissan, Hyundai, and Mazda. Carl owned and operated a variety of dealerships across Tampa Bay for the next 30+ years under the Lindell Motors moniker, where he was known as a “go-to” car dealer in the community.
While the car business was Carl’s first passion, he branched into the real estate development business in the 1990’s. Carl founded Lindell Investments Inc. and cut his teeth developing single family home communities such as the award-winning, 950-home Wilderness Lake Preserve in Pasco County. After selling his car dealerships in 2002, Carl turned his full attention to the real estate business. Over the last 25+ years, Carl has developed or joint ventured projects in many asset classes with a total combined valuation far in excess of $5 Billion.
